ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Stephen Devereux is a Professorial Fellow at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex in the UK, and Extraordinary Professor at the Institute for Social Development, University of the Western Cape (UWC) in South Africa. He lives in Cape Town and completed a Master’s in Creative Writing at UWC in 2019. His poems have been published in several magazines in the UK (including Inkshed, Iota, Orbis, Pennine Platform, and Stand) and South Africa (including Botsotso, Graffier, Hotazel Review, New Coin, New Contrast, and Stanzas). rip current is his first collection.
